VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS

I love virtual appointments - I get the opportunity to work with you no matter where in Ontario you live and we get to skip the long commute. Goodbye traffic, hello cozy sweatpants.
After booking your appointment you will then be prompted to create a login and password for your patient portal. The patient portal is your central hub for all things Dr. Erika. You can book/reschedule appointments, access your treatment protocol, access any documents I've shared with you, and access our virtual visits.

FIRST VISIT
Our first virtual visit together will explore the concerns that prompted you to connect with me, as well as a detailed health history and review of your health goals.
Log in to your patient portal with any internet-capable device that has working audio and video to attend the visit and get comfortable! Our first visit is usually 60-90 minutes and let's us really get into what's been going on with your health that I can work with you on. At the end of the visit I can either direct bill your insurance provider or you can make a payment with your credit card and submit on your own behalf with receipt.
After the visit you'll get a detailed protocol which will include any treatments or interventions discussed emailed directly to you. If we are also ordering lab work, any necessary requisitions will also be available on the portal. If a lab test kit is required this will be delivered to your home address.
SECOND VISIT
This is where we really keep that ball rolling! The second visit may have us going over some lab work and going into more depth about your protocol. Your blueprint will go over treatments that will be put in place, why they are there, how often we will follow up with one another, and when we expect to see improvement.
This visit will last 30-60 minutes.
FOLLOW UP VISITS
These visits allow for monitoring of treatment plans, health concerns, and individualized acute care. Follow up visits can also include reviewing or requesting lab work.
These visits can be booked for anywhere between 15-60 minutes.

DO I HAVE TO TAKE NOTES DURING OUR APPOINTMENTS?
Not at all! Just like when our appointments were in-person, you will still get a detailed protocol from me. Now all the information is available in your patient portal after our appointment concludes, as well as any other handouts or lab requisitions recommended. You'll even be notified when there is information uploaded to your portal.
CAN I STILL GET LAB WORK IF YOU'RE VIRTUAL?
YES! I work with LifeLabs, Rocky Mountain Analytical, In-Common Laboratories, and many other laboratories that offer testing. Depending on the test I will either send you a lab requisition or get a specimen collection kit sent to your home that will then be sent off via a courier service just like an in-person naturopathic doctor will do.
CAN YOU DIRECT BILL MY INSURANCE PLAN?
YES! I can submit directly to many insurance providers, such as Sun Life Financial, ManuLife Financial, Greenshield, ClaimSecure, CanadaLife, and many more. Please check with your insurance provider to see if they allow direct billing. If your plan does not and requires you to submit your receipts rest assured that those are always provided.
HOW DO I PAY FOR APPOINTMENTS?
At the conclusion of your virtual visit, I can either direct bill your insurance provider (if able) or charge your stored credit card that is on file. You will receive an emailed receipt.
DO YOU STILL SEE PATIENTS IN-PERSON?
No, I am only seeing patients virtually at this time.
CAN WE DO A PHONE CONSULT INSTEAD OF VIRTUAL/VIDEO?
Virtual consults provide a much needed face-to-face conversation that allows us to connect as well as offers me the opportunity to assess you visually. While there is room for some short follow up appointments to be conducted over the phone the majority of visits are with video.
WHERE ARE THE VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS?
Your appointments are Always available through your patient portal, with a little camera icon appearing 30 minutes before the start time. I recommend bookmarking this for ease when your appointment comes up! You will also receive appointment reminders with the link in them.

WHO CAN BE YOUR PATIENT?
I am licensed to practice in Ontario, Canada. Even though I practice virtually, all of my patients must also live in Ontario.
